How do you chew with dentures? being older?

I had a neighbor who had dentures since she was 18. Her own teeth were so crooked and her parents could not afford braces so she had them pulled. She loved her new 'teeth' but she said it took about 2 weeks to learn to eat with them. She uses a paste or glue for her dentures so they stay in place. She was never shy about her new teeth but at a New Year's party one year she had to throw up and her hubby went with her. While throwing up her top teeth came out and fell in the toilet, her helpful hubby leaned over and flushed her teeth away not knowing they were in the bowl. Poppy
