Spiritually dreaming: Did i end up on some weird astral plane?

Sounds like what Robert Anton Wilson described as the Realm of Thud, where what you see and hear and experience is deliberately disorientating and makes no sense. It is, apparently, a lower realm of the Kabbalah (Yesod) just above the earth-plane of Malkuth, where the pilgrim is expected to realise that all he or she sees, hears and experiences are illusions with no substance. your illusions involved three or four senses andd the ability to fly - it's very rare to taste or smell things in dreams, and this suggests you trancended the normal limitations of sleep and went elsewhere for a while. Don't get so wrapped up in the illusion that you forget it is illusion: challenge it and you p through into a higher plane still, usually characterised by things and images of beauty and harmony (Tiphareth)
